Sixth Form Art Student Wins Place at Open Door
The Art Department is very proud of Katrina S in Year 13, who has secured a place with Open Door Backstage, an organisation that supports talented young people aiming for careers in theatre, film and television. Katrina hopes to pursue set design. She will receive specialist mentoring, workshops led by industry professionals, free theatre trips and support with applications and interviews for leading drama schools such as RADA, LAMDA, Guildhall and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
Katrina played a major role in the set design for last year’s school production of ‘Guys and Dolls’ and was selected for Open Door alongside a small group of successful applicants interested in backstage careers. She has already attended her first workshop whilst hard at work on her A Level Art portfolio. Pictured left is an image of one of her GCSE final pieces.
