In-Year Admissions

In-Year applications can be made at any time throughout the year, but it should be noted that this will generally result in being placed on the waiting list as vacancies rarely arise. When a vacancy does arise, the applicant who best meets the Governing Body’s admissions criteria will be offered the place, regardless of how long she or he has been on the waiting list. Please fill in the form on our admissions portal.

Children without a school place
If you have recently moved into the borough of Wandsworth and require a school place for a child you will need to complete Wandsworth Council's application form for in-year admission. Parents and carers should contact Wandsworth Pupil Services to find out the availability of places in the schools in Wandsworth, and to obtain an application form to apply to three schools. Alternatively, you can apply to Saint Cecilia’s directly using our admissions portal.

Children who already have a school place
If your child already has a school place in the area, but you want them to transfer to a different school, you should discuss this with the headteacher of their current school before making an application. Problems at school can often be sorted out without the need to change schools.

If a change of school is necessary, you can request a transfer form from your local authority. You can also apply directly to Saint Cecilia’s using this form. The move should take place at the beginning of a term or half term, wherever possible. Parents and carers may not legally withdraw their child from school unless they have arranged a place in another school or made alternative arrangements for their child to receive full-time education.

The local authorities will inform Saint Cecilia’s of new applicants, who will be added to the waiting list for the year they are applying. If you have any further queries please email our Admissions Manager.

Appeal Arrangements

If you have not been offered a place at Saint Cecilia’s, the law entitles you to appeal against that decision to an Independent Appeal Panel. This panel is completely independent of the school and the Local Authority. The appeals are held at the school. Please access a booklet using this link for information about the appeal process.

If you wish to appeal, please use this form (please use Kent and South London for the name of Local Authority). Please do not use a London Borough of Wandsworth appeal form or send your appeal form to the council. You should include any evidence or supporting material with your appeal form and you MUST give the grounds for your appeal at the time you lodge your appeal form. Your appeal form will not be accepted unless you state the grounds for your appeal. You may appeal for more than one school.
