Two school students, a boy with light skin and a girl with dark skin, wearing maroon blazers, white shirts, and green ties, are standing in a library and holding an open book titled 'Marcus Sheford'. They are smiling and looking at the camera, with shelves of books behind them.

Library

A young girl in a school uniform sitting in a library, holding an open book titled 'Shoes' and looking at the camera.

The Library is at the heart of Saint Cecilia’s, receiving around 90,000 visits each year. It’s a vibrant and well-used space, offering a fantastic selection of fiction—from beloved classics to the latest bestsellers, graphic novels and manga. Our non-fiction collection supports the curriculum and a wide range of interests and we also stock a weekly newspaper.

More than just a place for books, the Library is a hub of activity. We organise a variety of events throughout the year, including our Get Caught Reading initiative, World Book Day, a Readathon, author visits and participating in the Wandsworth schools book awards. In all these we are supported by our team of Pupil Librarians. We hold competitions for creative writing, poetry and spoken word and anime/manga illustration. These activities spark creativity, inspire discussion and encourage a love of reading.

We provide a quiet, welcoming space for both independent study and relaxed reading, with comfortable seating and laptops available for personal use. Our dedicated staff are always on hand to help—whether supporting research, recommending a great book, or guiding pupils to explore new ideas. The Library plays an essential role in school life, ensuring every pupil and student has access to knowledge, inspiration and the joy of reading.

The Library is open and staffed from 8:00am to 4.15pm each day.

Library website
The Library software, Accessit, allows pupils and students to search our catalogue, renew items and more, accessed from the Library website button below. Children need to log in using their school sign-in information to be able to renew their books or write reviews.

Birthday books
We like to celebrate birthdays in the Library! Ask your child to check their school email around their birthday for a message from us. They’ll be invited to choose a book from our Birthday Box as a small gift to mark their special day.
